| General Overview | A Colonel in the United Earth Military Assault Command Operations Elite Special Operations Detachments, Josiah McEntyre's family has always served in one form or another, having seen combat in most major conflicts going back to the founding of the State of Texas. He was accepted into West Point in 2132, training for almost 6 years in combat operations, tactical strategy and leadership, holding a double Master’s degree in Military History and Grand Strategy. He has served with honor for 23 Years, seeing the Military Assault Command Operations Corps grow to be the elite of the United Earth National Services. Josh takes his job seriously, to the detriment of his personal life, still a confirmed bachelor. | |
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Peak Physical Fitness - Josh has trained his body to be in top physical strength and form. Combat Training - In addition to standard combat and weapons training, Josh has been trained as a Special Warfare Officer along with Starship Boarding Operations and Ship Handling, cross-training with the United Earth Starfleet. Weaknesses: By the Book - Josh could be considered a by the book officer, to that he’s rigid on discipline, regulations and tactical doctrine. He did not spend years for others to have a laissez faire attitude towards the corps and their duties to Earth. | Personal History | Josish “Josh” McEntrye was born in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas on 18 May 2113 to Charles and Emily McEntyre, the oldest child from a military family with deep roots in national service which Charles sought to instill in his sons from an early age, as Charles would not tolerate any “Weak Willed” men in his family. Growing up under the weight of this legacy, Josh was taught proper discipline, weapons handling, and self-reliance, skills useful for a future soldier of the United Earth. Charles was a stern taskmaster in this regard, pushing his first born to achieve excellence. Josh’s father did the same to his younger brothers, John and Eli, putting them in constant competition to determine who would be the best. He thrived, much like he did in childhood, excelling in his studies. Upon his senior graduation from West Point, he asked to remain to continue his studies for a double masters in Military History and Grand Strategy, graduated in the top of his class and was commissioned a First Lieutenant of the MACOs. He deployed for further training in Zero Gravity, Special Warfare Operations and Starship Boarding, qualifying as an expert in the operation of the EM-44 Pulsed Plasma Rifle. Spending the next Fifteen Years in garrison posts and Command postings until 2148 where he undertook a billet on the S.S. Shenandoah on deployment as a Starship’s Executive Officer in a Joint Project to train MACO officers in Command of Starships. It wasn’t until the day of his and his brother John's 40th birthday on the 18th of May, 2156 when word reached United Earth of the first Romulan attack and destruction of Starbase One or Salem One in the Berengeria System. John would die in the Attack, defending the Captial as Commander of Starbase One. Josh requested an assignment to the front, ready and eager for combat operations to avenge his brothers and those he knew on Salem One and the Berengeria Colonies. He is immediately promoted to Full Colonel and given command of the Yorktown Class, S.S. Unicorn NX-151, to conduct deep strikes and other vital missions in a joint Starfleet/MACO crewed starship. He also orders Special Operations Detachment-Alpha to make headquarters on Unicorn for mobile operations and coordination |
